IglotexIglotex is one of Poland?s largest makers of frozen food products and "white label" brands. Iglotex also distributes frozen food throughout Northern Poland. They have 5 distribution depots themselves and some 50 dependent wholesalers, supplying thousands of stores and restaurants.

Iglotex Mobile sales representatives regularly visit their customers to take orders and build customer relationships. They needed to post these orders directly to the Iglotex line of business system. The Sales Representatives also needed to be able to check stock levels and update themselves with details of any new products (including photos) so as to be able to provide customers the latest information. The Marketing Division wanted up to date and accurate sales reports to monitor sales efficiency and react to market needs.

Each sales rep, using a PDA, can take orders on the customers? premises that are immediately uploaded to the Head Office line of business system to ensure quick and accurate processing. The rep can also advise on stocks and availability of new products simply by browsing via the PDA.

At the same time Marketing is immediately aware of sales results and needs.

PDAs were chosen in preference to laptops because of their cost advantage and the fact that Sales Reps do not normally have space on which to place a laptop easily.
